My journey to cybersecurity wasn’t a straight path. For years, I worked in mortgage lending, helping families secure their dream homes. But as technology evolved, I noticed a troubling trend: smart homes were getting smarter, but not safer.
I made the jump to cybersecurity, earning certifications and working with clients to secure their digital lives. What I discovered shocked me – most families had no idea how vulnerable their smart homes were.
That’s when “Secure Your SHIoT!” was born. My mission became clear: translate complex security concepts into language everyone could understand, and help regular folks protect their smart homes without needing a computer science degree.
